The Vienna is made from a beech veneer embossed seat, which can be upholstered, beech bentwood back and frame. It is an authentic bentwood and rail back chair, designed originally for use in the coffee and cake shops of the Austria capital at the turn of the century. It is made using the original techniques pioneered in the 19th century by Michael Thonet. The Vienna side chair is made by hand and machine, using traditional methods and steamed bentwood. The beech for this technique needs to be of the highest grade to withstand the steaming and bending processes. Contract quality standard, suitable for use indoor in any hospitality venue.
