Sawbuck Table

Made of solid wood throughout Sawbuck tables are typically Pennsylvania Dutch furniture, originated early in the 18th century. Sturdy, scrolled sawbuck ends and a large-key-tenoned center rail contribute to convenience and strength of these tables and make it possible to elongate them to large tavern tables. Beautifully designed and proportioned, thanks to the sturdy rail and key-tenoned construction, Sawbuck tables are so structurally strong that original models, now well over 200 years old, are still in usable condition. Probably that is why Sawbuck never lost its popularity and is still widely chosen across the UK to furnish not only contract interiors.
